Nonverbal Communication Video

This video was created as part of a customer service module. It shows examples of each type of nonverbal communication.

Audience: Customer service employees

Responsibilities: Video Editing, Design Principles

Tools Used: Camtasia

The Process

As part of a customer service course, I created a video to show examples of nonverbal communication. This project gave me an opportunity to practice video editing and to learn Camtasia software.

I stopped the video clips and used a still image before having the text animate in to help focus the learner’s attention and reduce the cognitive load. I didn’t want the viewer to have to try to look at the video and the text at the same time. I also changed the color of the image to black and white to signal a transition.

The large, bold font that I used for the text helped grab the viewer’s attention and was easy to read. I also repeated the colors and the font throughout the video to create unity and make it visually appealing.

The Reflection

I really enjoyed learning the different features of Camtasia. It was also fun to explore different sources for gathering video and audio clips. For my next video, I would like to work on creating a video with narration.
